Level 2 home charging
EV Charger Installation Grimsby
Charge overnight at home with a Level 2 charger, wired on its own circuit and checked against your panel capacity.
Charge at home instead of hunting for a station
A Level 2 charger adds roughly 30 to 50 km of range per hour, enough to fill most EVs overnight. It needs its own 240-volt circuit, usually 40 to 60 amps, and enough room in your panel and service to handle it.
Before installing, we check your panel's capacity. If there's room, the install is straightforward. If not, a load management device or a panel upgrade can make it work.
What's included

We check your service and panel so the charger won't overload the house.

The work is done under an ESA permit and inspected.

Choosing a charger
Hardwired charger
Wired directly to the circuit. Usually allows a higher charging rate and is the tidier option outdoors.
Plug-in charger
Plugs into a 240-volt outlet, so it's easy to take with you if you move. Charging rate is typically lower.
Smart features
Scheduling lets you charge overnight on off-peak electricity rates, and some chargers can share capacity with other loads.
There's currently no Ontario rebate for home Level 2 chargers, so it's worth planning the install once and sizing the circuit for your next vehicle too.
How Much Does EV Charger Installation Cost?
Installing a Level 2 charger typically costs about $1,000 to $2,500 when your panel has room, not counting the charger itself. Longer wiring runs and outdoor mounts add to the cost. If you need a 200-amp panel upgrade first, that's typically another $2,000 to $4,500.
EV Charger Installation questions
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. The load calculation tells us. A load management device can sometimes avoid an upgrade.
Can you install a charger I bought?
Yes, as long as it's certified for use in Canada.
How long does the install take?
Most installs take part of a day once the permit is filed.
Can the charger go outside?
Yes. We use an outdoor-rated charger and weatherproof wiring for driveway installs.
